Malaysian Association of Canada celebrate Lunar Chinese New Year at Casa Deluz Banquet Hall, Toronto



March 7th. 2015  at Casa Deluz Banquet Hall @ Finch and McCowan, Toronto.


          Saturday March 7th., 2015 was a beautiful evening with mother nature even cooperating with a once in a lifetime beautiful weather. Although Chinese Lunar New Year was on February 19th 2015 and stretch for the next fifteen days the Malaysian Association had particularly chosen to celebrate this year Lunar New Year on March 7th 2015 to avoid clashes with other organization celebrating on the same day within the two weeks of Chinese New Year celebration. From the response of all those who attended the evening events, it was all worth the wait because it happen on the week that they we free of other commitments.

          Although Malaysian Association of Canada is a non political, non-religious but cultural organization to help its members who migrated from Malaysia to Canada to integrate into Canadian culture it also want to help foster better relation between Canada and Malaysia. While Malaysian has and had always been a cohesive  multicultural society since its independence from England in 1957 it shared the same culture as Canada. As part of the mandate of the Malaysian Association is to help Canadian learn Malaysian rich culture and to foster the Malaysian tourism this event help to enhance both countries friendship with Canadian elected members of parliament and the Malaysian Ambassador to Canada in attendances.

                In order to bring down the cost for this evening and subsidise the event Malaysian Association started to embarked on an aggressive campaign  early to raise fund through donation  from Canadian cooperation. Thank to the many individual Canadians and cooperation as well as the Malaysian High Commission in Canada this event was successfully organized with a fun fill evening and delicious foods.

                         Highlight of the evening was Elvis impersonator sing Elvis hits well applause by all attended including a party crashes from another party in the next door at the same banquet. Chinese New Year without the Lion dance will be hard press to imagine and graciously provided by the CMG (Creative Management Group) Artist Management event coordinator for the evening.
